Our Story
FATAR was founded in 1956 in Recanati, at the heart of Italy's Musical Instruments Valley — a region rich in musical history and culture, home for decades to some of the most influential manufacturers of accordions, guitars, pianos, and both acoustic and electronic instruments.
It is within this unique ecosystem that FATAR developed its extraordinary artisanal and technical know-how, becoming a global benchmark in the production of keyboards and mechanisms for digital musical instruments.
The company's origins trace back to Lino Ragni, a visionary entrepreneur who turned an industrial crisis into an opportunity. Starting from a small home workshop, Lino revolutionized the world of musical keyboards by developing innovative mechanisms that delivered superior performance and consistent reliability.
Joined by his brothers Laurino, Paolo, Giuseppe, and Claudio, the business grew into a solid industrial enterprise, able to reach the most important global markets.
The name FATAR — an acronym for Fabbrica Tastiere Ragni (Ragni Keyboard Factory) — has reflected from the very beginning the union of manufacturing tradition and family spirit, values that continue to define our company culture today.
